Pakistan Test squad for Australia series 2018
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector Inzamam ul Haq announced Pakistan Test squad against Australia series 2018, Sarfraz Ahmed retained as captain but Mohammad Aamir has been dropped from the team. while Muhammad Rizwan was selected as an additional wicketkeeper. Mohammad Amir has been dropped and replaced Wahab Riaz and Mir Hamza.
According to the PCB’s announcement, the captain will lead Sarfraz Ahmed. Here it is worth mentioning that the Pakistan cricket team performed very poorly in the Asia Cup and Mohammad Aamir completely failed to impress his bowling, with fans with specialists criticizing him.
According to the Geo Cricket website, Shan Masood, who was still in the team as a Test specialist, was not picked in this series. The selectors have selected three openers in the form of Azhar Ali, Imam al-Haq and Fakhar Zaman. The selectors have also included additional wicketkeepers Mohammad Rizwan.
Pakistan will have great hopes from veteran leg-spinner Yasir Shah against Australia who played a key role in Pakistan’s 2-0 win in the UAE in 2014 with 12 wickets against the side in the UAE. Left-arm spinner Shadab Khan and off-spinner Bilal Asif have also been included in the squad. Due to fitness, left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who has been out of the England tour, has also returned to the team.
It is clear that the first test match between Pakistan and Australia will be played on October 7 to October 11 in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, while the second Test match will be held on Sheikh Zaid Stadium in Abu Dhabi from October 16 to October.
